A strong new hope of Lithuanian gothic scene Saprophytes were stroked by a severe fate last autumn – tragic loss of the band guitarist. But the band managed to straighten up - they have recorded and released a debut album "Marionette" dedicated to the lost musician Genadijus Savickis. Sweep of the debut album and numerous praises for original shows proves that Saprophytes' strong fusion of deathrock and classical gothic enlists for the band plenty of true fans.

The Saprophytes have started from a small province town Pabradė in 1998. During 7 years these guys have played live actively, suprising with wild shows, assuming original style and achieving respect among hard music listeners. So there was no big suprise that the young group was given a prize of The Best Gothic Band 2004 on Lithuanian Alternative music awards last year.
