In 2002, duality started raising its head in the music of Donatas Bielkauskas, the leader of a famous post-folk project DONIS. This marked the birth of d.n.s. project which has no links with ethnicity whatsoever. Although the style has not settled down yet, certain direction can be sensed in the sounds of the project. d.n.s. music is based on collages of experimental electronics and the deep flow of ambient-type melodies and other harmonious sounds. Intertwining motifs at times turn into the outbursts of uncontrollable rhythmics and industrial chaos.
The audience of Kunigunda Lunaria Festival will enjoy gig adaptation of mechanistic…, new work by d.n.s. It merges richly sharp, monotonic mesmerising and sampled sounds of a sea-port at night, the sounds of legendary analogous synthesizers “Polyvox” and “Korg delta”, and sampled percussion. The style varies from ambient to noise. The music will be complemented by visual projection allowing one to have a virtual walk in the sea-port while the skies are turning from blue to black.
